Snow returns to Italy at gradually lower altitudesThe latest update has increased the dose. A is coming late cold pulse which will result in a bad weather of mold purely winter on our country.
But the main novelty that emerges from the maps just arrived from the computing centers, in view of the next few days, it concerns the snow: according to the latest updates it will not only fall more abundantly, but also at lower altitudes than expected, very respectable shares for the period. And many regions will be interested.
Analyzing the European synoptic framework it is clear how from the day of Wednesday March 30 a stream of very cold drafts of Arctic origin it will slide southwards, first crossing central Europe, and then heading straight towards Italy. Here is served a cold pulse that will burst from the Gate of the Rhone (France), then pouring into the Mediterranean basin. These very unstable air masses will “dig” a fast depression giving birth to a cyclone that will accompany us for the rest of the week.
As a first effect we expect a drop in temperatures with the thermal values that will bring up to below the climatic averages. This will favor the return of the snow after a very long time (in some areas even 3 months) to leave from 1400 meters of altitude. And that’s not all, on the contrary. The further entry of cold air at high altitude will cause the snowfall rate to drop, especially during Friday 1 Aprilwith the flakes that will push down to 4/500 meters in Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta and Lombardy (Valtellina and Val Chiavenna).
On the Apenninesthanks to the currents from the south, we expect intense snowfalls at higher altitudes, let’s say starting from about 1300 meters.
During weekenda new disturbance will reach Italy driven by even colder currents arriving from the North Pole. For this reason Saturday 2 April we do not rule out the possibility of name at lower and lower altitudes, up in the low hill, first in the North West (possible flakes in Cuneo) then extended to the regions of the Center. Between the afternoon and the evening the name he might even be seen under 300 meters his Tuscany, Lazio, Abruzzo and also on the internal areas of the Sardinia.
A very significant event considering that we are well underway in Spring and that we have been coming for really dry and far from cold months!
