The reason is the storm that raged in Europe in the last month of summer.
Recently, the media reported that the Volkswagen factory in Lisbon, Portugal was forced to stop production of the model T-Roc for several weeks due to the storm that raged in Slovenia, disrupting the logistics of parts deliveries.
However, these were not the only absences that affected Volkswagen. It turns out that the Emden plant in Germany is also facing a similar problem, where production of the Volkswagen Passat and Arteon has been affected for the same reason. The manufacturer reports that due to the lack of parts, the MQB platform conveyor stops from September 11 to October 1, while the production of electric cars is not affected.
The press representative of Volkswagen also warned about the situation, who emphasized that due to the non-standard situation in Slovenia, it is expected that not all parts and vehicle factories, including in Germany, will be able to be properly supplied in September, therefore production losses are expected. Volkswagen is also said to be working with other suppliers on alternative solutions while supporting a company in Slovenia to resume production.
