Immunization Week 2022: When and what vaccines will be provided at IMSS? – The Sun of Mexico

Within the framework of World Immunization Week the Coordinator of Medical Programs of the Area of ​​Immunopreventable Diseases, doctor Enrique Alcala Martinezreported that the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) will be part of the application of different vaccines.

From the first hours of life, the Hepatitis B vaccineand the BCGthe latter prevents the appearance of severe forms of tuberculosis in the childhood.

As time goes by, the scheme is applied according to age and can be a single dose or with reinforcement to increase efficacy.

Alcala Martinez pointed out that vaccination is fundamental in girls and boys, however, “they are not the only ones who should be vaccinated, since there is a specific scheme for adolescents, adults and older adults”.

Vaccines and application date

The week of vaccinations will be from April 24 to 30 of 2022 and will be applied in the Family Medicine Units IMSS the following vaccines:

  • Diphtheria
  • Hepatitis B
  • Measles
  • Poliomyelitis
  • Rubella
  • Tetanus

In Mexico, the vaccination system is divided into two stages: permanent phase where there are applications for all ages and 365 days a year in the Family Medicine Units.

The second is made up of the intensive vaccination phasesin which it seeks to make a significant number of applications in a short time.

Finally he remembered that April 19 to June 25the IMSS carries out the immunization of girls and boys from five to nine years old against the Measles, Rubella and Mumps (Mumps).
