Immune cells as a possible trigger for Alzheimer’s

Salzburg / Vienna – Certain immune cells that are supposed to protect the body could also play a kind of driving role in Alzheimer’s disease. An international research team with Salzburg participation has now shown in the journal “Nature” that CD8 T cells apparently influence the brain of sick people. The new findings could also be an approach for therapy and diagnostics in the future.
