Immortals of Aveum Receives Massive Update: Echollector Update to Bring New Content, Gear, and More

There’s no doubt that you were indeed one of the most positive critics when Immortals of Aveum launched in August, so it’s no surprise to learn that Ascendant Studios had to lay off nearly half of its staff after poor sales three weeks later . That doesn’t mean the remaining developers gave up on the game. They promised to keep working hard and improve on many aspects of their debut. We’ll see the first big part of this in two weeks.

Ascendant Studios has revealed that Immortals of Aveum will receive a massive update on November 16th. The Echollector update will not only improve performance and fix bugs. It will also give us more endgame content. New Corrupted Breakers will appear throughout Aveum, taking us to new places and new bosses. Doing so will also give us new gear and lore, so it’ll be interesting to see how impactful these things are.

Speaking of gear, the update will also include New Game+. This will allow us to play the game again with most spells and abilities (instead of augmented spells), and our equipment can be upgraded to higher levels. Then, a new, higher difficulty level called Grand Magnus was also introduced, giving us even more of a challenge, which makes sense.

These improvements and additions are obviously a good thing for those of us who already own the game, but they may not be enough on paper to convince those who are still on the fence. That’s why free trials will be available for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on November 16 (with a Steam demo launching “in the second half of November”). This will get you through the first two chapters of the game. Not bad, even if the game gets better as you get better gear and abilities later on.

Expect more details on this update to be released over the next two weeks.
