A lot has changed in the past year, say the makers of Immortals: Fenyx Rising. That applies to the real world, but certainly also to the world you are presented with in this game, which was announced a year ago as Gods & Monsters. The release was originally planned for the beginning of this year, but a small Chinese virus threw a spanner in the works. In addition, the creators got the ghost and came up with all kinds of extras for the game. That caused some delay, and the game also has a new title. That new name already leaked via a Taiwanese site and was promptly confirmed by Ubisoft. Gods & Monsters will soon be in stores as Immortals: Fenyx Rising. Via Parsec we took the first steps in the world of Fenyx – neatly from a distance.

During the play session we were dropped into the game world somewhere halfway through the game, when the protagonist Fenyx is already quite on strength. She pretty much had the weapons she can collect, although there was still a lot to upgrade. However, the latter was not possible during our play session: that part of the game was sealed off.

Greek mythology

Immortals: Fenyx Rising is a game from Ubisoft. It is being developed by the team behind Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, which was released in 2018. When that job was done, the team had the opportunity to create something completely new, a game that also takes place in a mythological world, but with a completely different look, different characters and also different gameplay. The new game revolves around Greek mythology, so you’ll see many household names, including Odysseus, who lent his bow to Fenyx. However, there are also many differences with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey.
