Weather: Imminent Snow, in a few hours it will fall to Very Low Altitudes. Regions at Risk
The snow is ready to return Here we are! The winter season returns to raise one’s voice after the long anticyclonic break. In the next few days we will be accompanied by acold outbreak of arctic maritime origin: in addition to the rains and strong winds, the name on various Italian regions, at gradually lower altitudes.
Our attention is focused on next hours when the irruption of colder and unstable air masses descending from Northern Europe from the Rhone Gate will favor the formation of a cyclone between the Ligurian Sea and the upper Tyrrhenian Sea. Here then that will activate the prime snowfall on the border of the Alps up to shares of the valley floor especially on upper Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta and Lombardy (Valtellina). After a long time the snow will be seen again a Sestriere (TO), Breuil-Cervinia (TO THE), Alpe Devero (VB), Madesimo (SO) and in other Alpine ski resorts that have so far too often remained on the edge of disturbances.
During Tuesday 1st February, the worsening of weather conditions will extend to the Center-South. Accomplice the drop in temperatures resulting from strong winds from the northern quadrants will be possible snowy episodes with flakes up to around 300/400 meters between Abruzzo and Molise, in addition to 800/1000 meters on Campania and Calabria.
Finally the bad weather will also reach the Sicily, where we expect snowfall locally at 8/900 meters of altitude especially on the Nebrodi mountains and on Etna.
