The Guatemalan Migration Institute (IGM) denied entry to the country of 17 foreigners, according to the institution, for having failed to comply with the requirements established in the Migration Code.

The non-admission of foreigners corresponds to the control carried out from 9:00 a.m. on February 28 to 9:00 a.m. on February 29 at La Aurora International Airport.

CONTROL AND INSPECTION

The institution explained that the staff carries out immigration controls on travelers to determine if there are active alerts, which causes inadmissibility to the country.

Inadmissibility is due to various reasons, among which are the lack of a visa, a false visa, child sexual abuse or a passport of dubious origin, among others.

“In 2023, 4,099 foreigners were not admitted for various reasons. At the Guatemalan Migration Institute we comply with prevention and the timely identification of foreigners to ensure the safety and integrity of Guatemalans,” the authorities conclude.
