Immigrants from 21 European countries will not have to comply with self-isolation; France / Article is also on the list of countries at risk

Non-vaccinated or non-Covid-19-diseased individuals will need to maintain self-isolation when entering from the United Kingdom, France, Cyprus, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Greece, Ireland, Malta, Denmark and Belgium, according to the Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (SPCC). The above-mentioned countries, as well as Monaco and Andorra, with which Latvia has no direct flights, are included in the high-risk list due to the spread of Covid-19. When entering from other European countries and several third countries, non-vaccinated persons will not have to go to self-isolation either.

Recent weeks have seen a significant increase in the incidence of Covid-19 in several countries of the European Union (EU) and the European Economic Area (EEA). During the week, the EU / EEA 14-day cumulative rate per 100,000 population increased by 68% to 150.9 (previously 89.6). For the fourth week in a row, the incidence is rising in Cyprus, which has the highest incidence of Covid-19 in Europe.

In Latvia’s neighboring countries Lithuania and Estonia, the epidemiological situation also continues to deteriorate slowly – in Estonia the rate has risen to 50.8 (previously 39.5), in Lithuania the incidence rate has reached 34.5 (previously 20.6), but in Latvia the incidence rate is 27.7 ( above 36.1).

At present, no country in the world is included in the list of countries at particularly high risk for countries with an epidemiological situation (including a particularly high incidence of Covid-19 or the rapid spread of Covid-19 strains that are dangerous to public health).

Travelers entering or returning to Latvia who have a vaccination or disease certificate or the so-called Covid-19 certificate do not have to comply with the self-isolation from any EU / EEA country included in the green or yellow list.

The “yellow list” included 13 EU and EEA countries with a prevalence of more than 75 cases per 100,000 population in 14 days. Persons who have not been vaccinated or have contracted Covid-19 must adhere to 10 days of self-isolation when entering these countries.

The list of safe countries, where the incidence of Covid-19 does not exceed 75 cases per 100,000 population, includes 21 countries, not including Latvia.

Of the countries and territories outside the EU / EEA, the United Kingdom, the United States, Israel, Lebanon and Jordan are on the risk list.

CONTEXT:

The list of safe countries has grown significantly in recent weeks, but last week fell again, because in many parts of Europe the incidence of Covid-19 delta has increased. According to the common European decision, the “green list” threshold has also been increased in Latvia from 50 to 75 diseases cases per 100 000 population. On the other hand, if a person who returns to Latvia is subject to the requirement to observe self-isolation, it may be terminated after seven days, by retesting Covid-19 and finding it negative.
