Beirut – “Al-Quds Al-Arabi”: Those wishing to develop their skills in theater and performing arts are on a date with the Beirut Summer School for “Theater and Performing Arts”, which was founded and developed by the Lebanese-Palestinian artist Alaa Minawi.
This school includes a series of theatrical and performance workshops organized by artists from Lebanon and the Arab world, where they share their views and experiences within their own artistic practices.
Registration for this summer school started a few days ago and continues until the 28th of this month. It is noteworthy that it is a free school, which contributes to subsidizing the transportation allowance for the participants, who are required to come on time and follow all the workshops.
The summer school is distributed over 224 hours of knowledge, and the workshops have the following titles:

Directing, negotiating with the present, with Hashem Adnan
Technical introduction to lighting design with Mohamed Farhat

The program includes lectures over lunch, in which guest experts in the field of theater and performing arts participate, with the aim of creating a space for exchanging experiences with the participants. To seminars, discussion sessions, artistic residencies, and more.
The target group of the summer school is theater and performing arts students in their final years of study, recent graduates, and young professionals. It also welcomes individuals who have good experience in theater and performing arts, and would like to get acquainted with different points of view. As for people who aim to become directors, they will benefit most from the school’s program, as they will learn about different skills in the field of theater and performance.
The summer school program runs from June 6 to July 10.
