Koran PR – The Bandung City Health Service (Dinkes) noted that there were 5,843 cases of HIV/-AIDS from 1991 to December 2021. Meanwhile, the estimated number of people living with HIV (ODHIV) is 10,871. Referring to the data, there is a difference of 5,028 among HIV/AIDS cases with the estimated number of PLHIV V.
The Working Group for the Prevention of HIV Transmission from Mother to Child (PPIA) and the Bandung City AIDS Commission (KPA) agreed that tracking and treating 5,028 PLHIV is very important.
“It needs to be found and treated around 5,028 people. It is a joint work,” said the Chairperson of the Bandung City PPIA Working Group, Nova Dianthy, during the PPIA Seminar Towards Golden Indonesia in 2045 at the Graha Binangkit Building, Bandung City, Saturday, March 4 2023.
Together with stakeholders, his party continues to make a number of efforts to track and deal with these missing numbers. These various efforts in the field must be carried out more.
Mother infected
Currently, his team still finds children infected with HIV/AIDS from their mothers. “The mother was lost to follow up, did not have HIV checked during pregnancy,” he said.
The Chairperson of the Bandung City AIDS Commission (KPA) Community Empowerment Working Group, Yunimar Mulyana said, of the 5,843 known cases of HIV/AIDS, 11.11% were housewives.
“It becomes a joint work so that the mothers want to have themselves examined. In fact, in the city of Bandung, there are children who are both infected with HIV and stunted because their mothers do not want to be examined and take medication. Therefore, we hope that pregnant women with HIV/AIDS are willing to continue taking antiretroviral drugs (ARVs),” he said.
Yunimar said, the golden generation of 2045 needs to be prepared from now on. “We want the golden generation of 2045 to be free from stunting and HIV,” he said.***
