Immediate negotiation. New mandate of the Prime Minister on the rise in prices

Dr Mostafa Madbouly, prime minister, said the government was taking clear steps to address the price hike.

He added, in the cabinet meeting today, Wednesday: “I have given clear mandates to all oversight agencies to agree on a specific deadline to be announced, after which periodic trafficking will take place, and to deal immediately with any outlets – such as shopkeepers and shops, who do not comply with announcing the prices of goods, or exaggerate.” In their prices, as well as those who amass goods, or hide them from the citizens, closing the point of sale and confiscating the goods they offer, and reselling them for the benefit of the citizens.

During the meeting, the President of the Council of Ministers reiterated the importance for ministers and officials to intervene immediately and clarify to public opinion and the media any issue raised on the scene that captures the attention of citizens, and make available data and information to answer, so this helps to avoid confusion, underlining the continuous coordination between the various Ministries and the authorities concerned with respect to these files.

The President of the Council of Ministers underlined the importance of moving towards a series of dossiers relating to vital sectors in the medium term, noting that among these dossiers there is that relating to the supply of feed necessary for the poultry industry, in support of important industry, reaffirming the importance of preparing a strategic plan to locate the feed industry in Egypt, in an effort to meet various local needs, by expanding the cultivation of soybeans and corn, as well as establishing more factories for feed concentrates.
