Immediate aid for companies affected by the flood

The state government is providing emergency aid to the companies affected by the flood disaster in order to support the evacuation and cleaning. This has been announced by Prime Minister Malu Dreyer and Minister of Economic Affairs Daniela Schmitt. The amount of the emergency aid is 5,000 euros.

“The extent of destruction and suffering in the flood area is terrible. We have died to mourn, many people lost their homes in the floods. Many companies are also existentially affected: shops, workshops, agricultural goods – much has been destroyed. That is why the state government decided today to provide emergency aid for companies, ”said Prime Minister Malu Dreyer after the meeting of the Council of Ministers. “The emergency aid is a first step in making liquidity available to companies at short notice, unbureaucratically and quickly,” said Economics Minister Daniela Schmitt.

The emergency aid is paid out as a lump sum of 5,000 euros per company. Applications are accepted by the local administrations of the districts and the city of Trier. The “emergency aid company” is granted without extensive testing. It is sufficient to provide credible evidence that the business premises are in the immediate flood damage area and that the applicant has suffered damage of at least 5,000 euros to this business premises.

The operating or production facility must be spatially separated from living areas. Companies in the commercial sector, including members of the liberal professions and self-employed, as well as companies in agriculture and forestry in the districts of Ahrweiler, Bitburg-Prüm, Mayen-Koblenz, Trier-Saarburg, Vulkaneifel, Bernkastel-Wittlich and the city of Trier are eligible to apply

At the same time, the state government is working on a reconstruction program for companies in the regions affected by the flood disaster. The federal government has promised support here.
