Drafting 10/31/2023 NBA
One week. Short time, but enough for 27 of the 30 NBA teams to have suffered their first defeat. One at least, rather, because others like Houston and Memphis still do not know victory. The NBA has gotten off to a great start, but only three franchises have had an immaculate start. The kind that triggers expectations or reaffirms a candidate, although it is still too early to set clear thoughts.
Denver Nuggets
They have played more than most and have not failed. The current champions have started the season in the same way they finished it. With Nikola Jokic as the central axis of everything that happens on the court, the fantastic starting quintet and notable wardrobe have not lowered their level one bit. After the first week, up to five different players are averaging double figures in scoring: Nikola Jokic (26.3), Jamal Murray (20.7), Michael Porter Jr. (13.7), Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (11.7) and Aaron Gordon (11.3).

Dallas Mavericks
Luka Doncic’s start has marked the beginning of the season. Aside from the third, somewhat looser, the Mavericks suffered to get their other two wins. However, the appearance of the Slovenian in the decisive moments was totally decisive. In the debut, a step-back triple put the icing on the cake to close the match. Days later, 4 triples in the last 3 minutes (14 points) turned around a game in which Luka finished with 49 points. Totally unleashed.

Boston Celtics
Kristaps Porzingis arrived, Jrue Holiday joined him, and the Boston Celtics are off to a winning start. Three wins later, the entire starting quintet is in double figures in scoring, as is the case with the Nuggets. However, here with even greater importance, since Jayson Tatum (29.7), Jaylen Brown (24.7) and Kristaps Porzingis (20.7) exceed two dozen and, in turn, the contribution of the bench is much less. Excluding Al Horford, the contribution is small, but not enough to be at the top of the East.
