Promoting the health care of the canopies is a priority for the Municipality of El Marqués, therefore, through the Municipal Institute for Women (IMM)various actions have been developed to promote self-care and a healthy life.
About the director of the Municipal Institute for Women, Lucia Ferrusca Rivera, highlighted that so far this year they have benefited 344 women from 11 communities in the municipalitywho have come to perform one of the various services offered by the Institute.
“We are carrying out inter-institutional work, with the Women’s Secretariat of Corregidora, UNEME DEDICAM and Jurisdiction 1 of the State Health Secretariat, thanks to which we have been able to carry out studies to prevent breast cancer, such as thermographs for women under 40 years, mammograms for the elderly, as well as studies to prevent cervical cancer such as Pap smears or the PCR test to detect HPV (Human Papillomavirus), I want to thank Lic. He detailed that During the first days of June, 35 mammograms were performed on women from the towns of San José Navajas, Guadalupe La Venta, San Rafael and the El Mirador subdivision, all of them through the Unit of Medical Specialties for the Detection and Diagnosis of Breast Cancer (UNEME DEDICAM).
held that Through the support and collaboration with the Municipal Institute for Women of Corregidora, 23 Thermographs were madewhich is focused on the study to detect breast cancer in women under 40 years of age, benefiting women from the Los Héroes subdivision and the community of San Rafael.
Y in coordination with Sanitary Jurisdiction No. 1 of the State Health Secretariat, 21 Pap smears were performed, in addition to 39 PCR tests for the detection of HPV (Human Papilloma Virus), to women from the communities of San Rafael, San José Navajas, Guadalupe la Venta and Alfajayucan.
He indicated that so far this year A total of 112 women have been supported during the Visual Health Days that are carried out.
Finally, he indicated that talks on self-care, breast cancer self-examination and cervical cancer prevention have been offered to 132 women from 5 communities.
