The goal of this new project is to improve the management of budgetary resources in Ukraine.
The International Monetary Fund in Ukraine has launched a project to continue fiscal reforms, calculated until 2023. The project is funded by the European Union, informs EU Delegation to Ukraine.
“The new project … will help improve fiscal administration in Ukraine and increase transparency and accountability in the areas of public finance and tax collection,” the statement said.
For example, the project will help bring fiscal institutions in line with modern international practices and contribute to the country’s economic growth and development. It is also about modernizing the budgetary process, improving tax collection and the main functions of tax administration.
“The pandemic creates problems for economic management and sustainable development around the world. With the help of such projects, the European Union and its partners help ensure the appropriate level of readiness of Ukraine’s economic institutions for a stable and fair recovery,” said Remy Duflo, Head of the European Union Delegation to Ukraine.
According to Deputy Managing Director of the IMF Antoinette M. Sayeh, today Ukraine is one of the main beneficiaries of the IMF’s assistance in capacity development.
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to further expand our support to this country within the partnership with the European Union. The goal of this project is to improve the management of budgetary resources in Ukraine and to promote economic stability and inclusive growth,” she concluded.
