Imam Ashour, the midfielder of Zamalek, has become threatened with imprisonment for 3 years because of his issuance of checks without balance in favor of the Ghazl El Mahalla club, from the value of his transfer to the Zamalek club, as the Ghazl El Mahalla club obtained an enforceable ruling against Imam Ashour with imprisonment in the event that he did not pay the value of the checks.
Hossam Ezzo, a member of the Board of Directors of Ghazl El Mahalla Club, revealed that Imam Ashour, upon his move to Zamalek, issued 3 checks worth half a million pounds for each check, after the club management agreed with the player to pay 2 million pounds in favor of Ghazl El Mahalla to agree to his transfer to Zamalek.
Hossam Ezzo said that Zamalek offered 10 million pounds in exchange for joining Imam Ashour, but the Ghazl El Mahalla club asked for 12 million for the player to bear the 2 million pounds, the difference between the offered and the required, adding that Imam Ashour paid half a million pounds upon signing and obtaining the dispensation and issuing 3 checks. However, the Mahalla administration was surprised that their calls were not answered by Imam Ashour, so legal measures were taken for the first check and a ruling was obtained to imprison the player for 3 years.
On the possibility of resolving the crisis amicably with the Zamalek club, Hussam Ezzo said that he contacted Ismail Youssef, a member of the Zamalek board, and asked him to solve the crisis, but the latter promised a solution and then ignored the response to the contacts of the locality officials.
Hossam Ezzo said that if the player pays the value of the 3 checks, the first case will be waived, but in the event of continued procrastination in front of Ashour, legal measures will be taken on the remaining two checks.
