A strong electrical storm broke out over the city of Barquisimeto (Lara), in western Venezuela, associated with the presence of convective clouds over much of the Venezuelan territory, meteorologist Luis Vargas explained on Instagram.
According to photographs and videos published by users of social networks, the atmospheric phenomenon produced abundant lightning, thunder and until the hailthe latter mainly in the city of Carora, near Barquisimeto.
Internet users assured that the intensity of the downpour was unusually high by the standards of the capital Larense and its surroundings, which is why flooding on many of the main roads, power outages and traffic accidents were reported.
Likewise, neighbors warned of the flooding of the La Ruezaga ravine due to heavy rain and said it was about to overflow.
No official reports of damage or casualties emerged.
