Images show high concentrations of oxygen in Mars’ atmosphere

The space mission of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is one that is also on the “ground” of Mars. As is known, there are currently three missions to Mars. The mission from China, the United States and, for the first time, the United Arab Emirates. The three missions began in July 2020, when the distance between Earth and Mars was relatively short.

Recently images from the UAE probe show high concentrations of oxygen in Mars’ atmosphere.

Al Amal (Hope), Tianwen-1 and Perseverance are the probes in operation for the discovery of Mars. Amal (which means hope in Arabic) is from the United Arab Emirates, Tianwen-1 is the Chinese probe and Perseverance is the US probe.

The space mission of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) this Saturday published images of Mars that show high concentrations of oxygen in its atmosphere.

In a statement, the mission states that...

the observations contain completely unexpected features that will have far-reaching consequences for existing models of the Martian atmosphere and understanding of its behavior.

According to the mission leader, Hessa al Matroushi “We had not anticipated structures of this magnitude and complexity”.

Images taken by the Hope space probe show variations in oxygen and carbon monoxide concentrations in Mars' atmosphere on the dayside and reveal the abundance of oxygen.

UAE Minister of State and New Technologies, Sarah al Amiri said that...

This data will have an impact on hitherto known models of the Martian atmosphere, as well as our knowledge of changes on Mars.

Remember that the "Al Amal" spacecraft was designed to provide a complete picture of the meteorological dynamics of the planet Mars, "but it is above all a step towards a much more ambitious goal: the creation of a human colony on Mars within 100 years ".

For the first time, more than 110GB of data on Mars is also available. can download on here.
