Images: man kicks teenager down stairs at Kortrijk station | Abroad

Wouter Vermeersch of the local party Vlaams Belang Kortrijk posted the images on Facebook on Tuesday morning. The 28-second video shows a teenager on the phone in a stairwell at the back of the station. At one point, an obese man of foreign origin in an Olympic Marseille tracksuit comes down the stairs. He gives the boy a kick in the back, then a blow to the head and the man ends with a kick to the head of his victim. The perpetrator then runs off and leaves the boy on the stairs.

According to Vermeersch, the abuse dates from Friday. The police of Vlas also tracked down the images and officially started an investigation. “For the time being we are not aware of a report,” said police spokesman Thomas Detavernier.

“We are further investigating the matter. The facts take place at the back of the station. Since there is clearly a minor involved, we will review it in all discretion. We will also make use of extra footage from the cameras at the station. ”

It is already the second film of senseless violence in Flanders in two weeks that has caused a stir. A video of a 15-year-old boy who was attacked by five youngsters circulated in Puurs. This identified the suspects.
