These are the first cars from this year’s order for a total of 20 midibuses from Solaris, others are to arrive from Bolechow near Poznań at weekly intervals. “With regard to the valid restrictions within the pandemic, the last finishing work by the supplier will take place in Prague by mutual agreement, “ said Daniel Šabík, head of the DPP communication department. It is mainly a revival of the check-in and information system. The acceptance itself will take place in Prague. The first images were published by DPP on its Facebook profile.

Midibuses will be supplemented with internal and external information and elements, in the coming weeks will also be trained drivers and workshop staff. Vehicles must also pass authorization to meet the new standards of Prague Integrated Transport.

The new buses will start running on lines 101 (Tolstého – Skalka – Zentiva) and 138 (Institute of the Academy of Sciences – Sídliště Spořilov – Skalka – Sídliště Skalka), where they will increase capacity compared to the existing two-door midibuses. Deployment into regular operation will take place in December.

Solaris became one of the winners of the competition for the supply of a total of 60 midibuses for DPP. In both cases, these are framework agreements. In the case of Solaris, it is a contract for up to 40 cars for 5.5 million crowns per piece, with SOR Libchavy for 20 midibuses SOR BN 9.5 with a price of 5.15 million crowns per piece. The new cars are equipped with a device for counting transported passengers, a camera system and an automatic fire extinguishing system in the engine compartment. Midibus plus buses are the premiere in the case of DPP, so far this type of carrier has not operated.
