Apple’s iMac computer would be redesigned for the first time in years, anonymous sources say on Friday Bloomberg.
The new iMac would get thinner screen edges than previous models, while the metal edge at the bottom is removed. The design would be similar to the Pro Display screens, which the tech giant also sells.
Two versions of the iMac were planned: one with a 21.5-inch screen and one with a 27-inch screen. Both are probably planned for this year.
With the design, Apple wants to distinguish the new computers more from the previous generation, which still use chips from Intel instead of Apple itself.
‘New Mac Pros and screens also planned’
Apple is also reportedly working on two new Mac Pro computers for professional users. One of them has an Intel processor, while the other runs on a chip from Apple itself.
The electronics company would also produce a new external screen. This should be much cheaper than the Pro Display screen that is offered for 5,499 euros.
