The players of Dunajská Streda had great ambitions before the new season of the Fortuna League, but at the beginning of the year they are hampered by a weak form. In Sunday’s match of the 5th round, they drew with Trenčín 1: 1 on their pitch and did not score fully for the third time in a row. So far, they have only one victory on their account and they are only in eighth place in the table. On the contrary, Trenčín is doing quite well, so far it has lost only once and is in fourth place.

DAC coach Antal Németh had to do without three supports Dominik Kružliak, András Schäfer and Andrij Balič. “All three are injured. As for Kružliak and Balič, their situation is not so serious and I believe that they will be available against Pohronie on Friday. We are waiting for Balič’s results for the examination.” said Nemeth.

The visitors kept the pressure on to tie the game when, after 24 minutes, Danylo Beskorovajnyj broke through the center and found himself alone with the keeper. “I’m dissatisfied, we want to win at home, we need three points. We lost a lot of matches, we have to go up the table. We lack luck, we collect in every match, which is also a defense error. We have to work more on the field.”

The five points of the Danube Wednesday so far have also been made for coach Németh, who expects improvement: “I’m not happy with the first five rounds, we wanted to get a lot more points. I believe I will be happier after the next five rounds.”

Trenčians are in the opposite position. At the beginning of the season, they have eight points and pull the three-match line without losing. AS coach Peter Hlinka admitted that the plan is still working, but added with one breath that by the end of the year it is very far: “It’s still just the beginning of the season, we’ve only played five games.

We wanted to enter the year positively from the beginning, then everything comes out of it, and we succeeded. We have some shortcomings, I demand a lot from the boys. Something is going well for us, something is not. In a way, I’m 70-80 percent satisfied. “

Trenčians finished in ten, when the goalkeeper Michal Kukučka saw a red card at the end of the match. “I tried to prevent the attack, I ran out of the gate, but I miscalculated. Unfortunately, I hit the opponent’s leg, so the red card is deserved.” 19-year-old Kukučka admitted a mistake. Madu, a midfielder, took his place, as at that time the people of Trenčín no longer had the opportunity to change.

Kukučka was all the happier that his teammates managed to finish the duel without collecting: “I’ve been informed that we can’t take turns anymore, so I handed over my things to the guys. Then you don’t think about anything else just for the guys to keep the result. A little stone fell from my heart.”

Coach Hlinka stood up for the young goalkeeper and reminded that mistakes belong to football: “Michal could have gone into that situation sooner, in these cases he has to be faster. But they are young players, they have to learn from it. The share of guilt is there, but we won’t break the stick over it. Football is the same.”

Goal of the year in the 5th Slovak League? Adepts for the Golden Ball would not be ashamed of such a shot.
