(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Kim Chi-yeon = Singer and actor Im Seul-ong, 34, from the vocal group 2AM, who killed a pedestrian crossing while driving on a rainy road late at night, received a summary order of fine.
According to law enforcement officials on the 18th, the Seoul Western District Law issued a summary order of 7 million won to Im on the 13th.
A summary order is when a court reviews documents and imposes sentences without a formal trial.
Earlier, the prosecution briefly prosecuted Mr. Im for violating the Special Act on Traffic Accident Handling (fatal death), taking into account the fact that Mr. Im agreed with his family.
On August 1, last year, at 11:50 pm, Lim was driving an SUV on a road in Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul, and hit a man who was crossing at a pedestrian stop sign at a pedestrian crossing. The victim of the accident was taken to a nearby hospital, but died.
It was investigated that Im did not drink alcohol at the time of the accident.
If Mr. Im disagrees, he can request a formal trial within one week after receiving the summary order.
