Mark Hoppus now shares some bad news with his fans. The bassist, who achieved great fame especially with his rock band Blink-182, keeps his private life largely out of the public eye. All the more surprising was a photo of the singer in a doctor’s office – which he quickly deleted – with which he indicated that he had cancer. A little later, the “All the Small Things” interpreter published another post in which he now confirms: Yes, he has cancer.
“I have had chemotherapy for the past three months because of my cancer. […] It’s shit and I’m scared, “writes Mark in its Instagram-Story. At the same time, he is incredibly happy to be blessed with such great doctors as well as family and friends who help him through this difficult time. “I still have months of treatment ahead of me, but I’m trying to stay hopeful and positive”, adds the 49-year-old.
The musician also thanks for the support of his fans and the many lovely messages he has received since the post, which has since been deleted. “I can’t wait to be cancer free and to see you all at a concert hopefully in the near future”, stresses Mark finally.
