‘I’m rural, I’m a Leader’: looking for rural entrepreneurs in Asturias | BE Gijón | Today for Today Gijón

The campaign can be seen until next January in 14 billboards distributed throughout all the neighborhoods of Gijón and also on the back and sides of two of the city’s urban transport buses.

The objective, as explained by the president of Reader and mayor of Somiedo, Belarmino Fernández, is to present the Leader grants in the large cities of the community to publicize the wide range of entrepreneurship that rural Asturian territory has and attract rural entrepreneurs. Hence, the image chosen under the slogan ‘I am rural, I am Leader’ is that of entrepreneurs from the eleven Rural Development Groups that have received Leader grants and who are a small example of the economic opportunities offered by the Asturias rural.

The initiative, which is part of the Asturian Rural Development Network and has had the collaboration of the Gijón city council, is the first of its kind at the national level and has the complicity of the cities as an important element to attract future rural entrepreneurs and create synergies. Gijón will be the first place to host it but the project will continue throughout the remainder of the year in other Asturian towns such as Langreo, Aviles Y Oviedo, remaining to set a date in the town councils of You see Y Serum.
