Mumbai – Veteran actress Veena Kapoor (73) has denied reports that her son had beaten her to death over a property dispute. She said the person killed was someone else with her first name and that action will be taken against those who spread the rumor that it was him. After filing a complaint with the Mumbai police, her reaction was in front of the news agency together with her son.
“I’m not dead. One Veena Kapoor, a resident of Juhu, was beaten to death by her son. I live in Goregaon. I also live with my son. This may have caused the misunderstanding. The publicity that her son was killed was shocking. So, I was in a state of mind where I couldn’t even react’ – said the actress.
His son Abhishek replied that he was overwhelmed by the news against him: ‘Many people called me accusing me of killing my mother. I am a son who loves my mother very much. I was exhausted and sick.’
Last week, Mumbai police arrested her son Sachin Kapoor and a domestic worker for beating Juhu resident Veena Kapoor (74) to death with a bat over a property dispute. Then actress Veena Kapoor said that some social media was sharing her photo with this news. National media also reported the news.
