I work physically on a construction site. I am not some “obs … star” who will cry that she is bad – said Andrzej Krzywy from the De Mono band in an interview with Radio Zet. Although the artist criticizes the restrictions implemented by the PiS government due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, he admitted that he himself receives government subsidies and that he has found another source of income, because he does not intend to complain about the difficult situation.

Actors, singers and musicians have often complained about the limitations of the coronavirus pandemic because they cannot earn money by playing concerts or giving theater performances. Some criticize the government’s decisions. Many benefit from subsidies. Still others are looking for “alternative” sources of income. For example, the actor and singer Marcin Januszkiewicz in the first wave of the pandemic decided to earn extra money as a courier. In the fall, he returned to artistic work.
It was actually a sort of emergency lifebuoy when I was short of work. This job strengthened me enormously, it gave me the feeling that I can do anything
– said Januszkiewicz in an interview with “Fakt”.
As it turned out, the actor was satisfied with the work of the courier, which helped him to organize his lifestyle a bit. He also admitted that customers recognized him and often asked for an autograph or a joint photo. Marcin Januszkiewicz himself, whose area of work as a courier was Warsaw’s Praga district, famous for its unique atmosphere, admitted that he had met many interesting people there.

Now the singer De Mono also admitted that in the face of the pandemic he found another source of income. At the same time, he was hitting the government, claiming that government regulations were “paranoia and a bit of a fraud.”
I could play solo with a cassette, but I can’t play with the band anymore. Theoretically, if I called our show a cabaret, we could already perform. This is paranoia and a bit of a cheat
– he said.
The musician admitted that the situation of artists during the pandemic is not easy. As Krzywy explained, he played about 60 concerts a year with De Mono before the pandemic. Last year we only managed to perform twice. The singer stated that he receives government support, but the subsidies and funds from the social fund are not very large. That’s why he decided to change the industry. As he points out, he is not the only artist who decided to do physical work.
