“I’m late for hospital treatment, I lost my son” …

All railway operations, which had been stopped due to the train derailment accident that occurred the other day, were restored to normal.

However, the train service was delayed late into the night, causing damage everywhere.

This was reported by reporter Lee Yoo-kyung.

◀ Report ▶

Last night at Yeongdeungpo station in Seoul.

Even after the announcement of the “resumption of train service”, the “train delay” notice continues to float on the electronic board.

Trains that were blocked started leaving the station in order, but kept their distance for safety, so they left at a different time than indicated in the app.

“The KORAIL app said it was a 60 minute delay, so I trusted that and came this way, and the time just kept increasing.”

The passengers on the train were equally frustrated.

Since the operation was delayed in a series, there have been many cases of waiting without an appointment on a stopped train.

A man who was on a train bound for Seoul to receive cancer treatment nearly missed a hospital visit as the train stopped for two hours near Gwangmyeong Station.

“Even if I had told you in advance, I would have gone by any means, either by taxi or by any means, but keeping people locked up in a train like this for two hours without any announcement is in itself …”

Yesterday afternoon at Iksan station, about 20 passengers got off the train with the warning that it would stop for about an hour, and then suddenly they missed the train.

There were small children and even a fallen mother on the train, but KORAIL, who received a complaint, said he had warned the departure from the station.

“The baby’s mother heard the announcement, so she went to the bathroom for a while, then went to the kiosk to buy water. Suddenly the train left, so the baby was gone.”

Fortunately, the baby was delivered to his father at Gwangmyeong Station, and passengers dropped off at Iksan Station were able to reach their destination on a later train.

The complaints against KORAIL continued for the second day, with complaints about the inconvenient procedure for issuing the certificates, which had to justify the delay due to the delay in the operation.
