July 7, 1941 : birth in Baba II, village of the municipality of Santa, in the department of Mezam, North-West Region.

1988 : candidate of the Democratic Rally of the Cameroonian People (RDPC), party in power, in the constituency of Mezam, during the legislative elections of 1988, where he was beaten by another list of the same party.

1990 : he created with other personalities the Social Democratic Front (SDF), and switches to the opposition

1992 : he was elected national president of the SDF during his first ordinary national convention, held in Bamenda in May of this year, then invested as the party’s candidate for the presidential election of 92. He finished second in this ballot with a score of 36% , behind Paul Biya, still in office.

2006 : indicted for “ complicity in assassination, simple wounds and light wounds with other leaders of the SDF, following the death of Grégoire Diboulé, during clashes following a conflict of the party’s board opposing him to Bernard Muna, of late memory.

2013 : candidate for the first senatorial elections organized by the country, he was beaten in his constituency by the CPDM, which he accused of cheating.

27 avril 2019 : first kidnapping by separatist fighters in Wainamah, in the department of Bui, while he was on his way to the funeral of his comrade Joseph Banadzem, the former leader of the SDF parliamentary group in the National Assembly. He will be released after almost seven hours.

June 28, 2019 : second abduction by separatist militiamen from his home in Bamenda. He was held captive for 24 hours because he was accused of not having supported the fight for the liberation of the English-speaking regions. Separatists were also pressuring him to remove elected SDF members from the Cameroonian parliament and municipalities. In vain.

February 11, 2021 : He officially announces his intention to no longer run for the presidency of his party.

June 12, 2023 : Death in Yaoundé, following a long illness.
