At the time the series was launched, it was an extraordinary feat by domestic standards. Even though the miniseries wasn’t on TV at the time, it had a massive advertising campaign, including roadside billboards. The reason was simple – to entice viewers to pay for the Voyo platform.

Needless to say, the goal was met. Between 2020 and 2022, when the management of the parent company CME began to pay more attention to Voya, the platform gained about 340,000 new subscribers in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. At the end of 2023, Voyo already recorded 650,000 of them.

Although the miniseries succeeded in this direction, it did not impress the reviewers much. According to them, it lacked, among other things, the historical context and the psychology of the characters. The biographical drama thus “resembled a fairy tale based on archetypes rather than the story of real people”.

The most paused scene in movie history? It is said that Stone had no idea about the revelation of “everything”.
