Argento then explained that the conquest of sobriety is not an unprecedented fact for her: “I had already been sober from 2013 to 2016, but then I had a relapse which lasted 5 years in which I really hit rock bottom, in all senses but above all spiritually. A year and a half ago, after suffering the loss of my mother, I started practicing Nichiren Daishonin’s Buddhism and my karma began to transform, as well as my thoughts, actions and words. I found the desire to stop hurting myself, to expand my consciousness. With the help of AA’s recovery program I found peace of mind, new goals and objectives, one day at a time. I hope this “coming-out” can help and encourage other addicts who are still suffering. There is a solution, we can get out of it!
