The truth is, my dear “people” and “elite”, that for the last 140 years we have never done it – we have always relied on others, both to liberate us and to protect our state! Whether it’s Russia, whether it’s Germany and the Third Reich, whether it’s the Soviet Union and the Warsaw Pact, whether it’s the USA, NATO and the European Union – it doesn’t matter!… In all these situations, we, the Bulgarians, have betrayed and are betraying Levski again and again – “the only son of Bulgaria”, as Botev poetically describes him!
Otherwise, the ideological shamans continue to argue whose victims are more victims and whose genocide is more genocide – the “fascists” over the “communists” or the “communists” over the “fascists”?!… Without both being able to make sense of the simple, but traumatic fact for the Bulgarian psyche, that in both cases it is about the murder of Bulgarians by Bulgarians?!…
