I’m A Skincare Expert: Why Is A $90 Item From Kim Kardashian’s New Skincare Brand Such A Big Scam?

CELEBRITIES like Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Hailey Bieber have added to their already large net worths by launching their own skincare brands.

The latest to jump into the celebrity skincare craze is none other than SKIMS mogul Kim Kardashian.

The reality star recently launched her SKKN skincare line, which fans are already criticizing for being too expensive.

That also appears to be a sentiment shared by skincare professional and makeup artist, Lucrecia Hale, who reviewed SKKN’s hyaluronic acid serum in a video.

The pro revealed that SKKN’s hyaluronic acid serum is probably not worth $90.

For those who don’t know, hyaluronic acid is used in skin care to hydrate the skin, which is crucial for a youthful appearance, according to Healthline.

In the video, you noticed that sodium hyaluronate is near the bottom of the serum ingredient list.

“That means there are trace amounts of hyaluronic acid in this hyaluronic acid,” Hale explained.

“Also note that it’s $90.”

Instead, Hale recommended Pomifera’s Plump Serum as a cheaper and more effective serum than Kim K.

«[Hyaluronic acid] it’s the number two ingredient after water and that’s because hyaluronic acid needs water to do its job,” Hale said.

“And it’s only $28, a third of the price of that other stuff.”

In the comments section, people had some harsh words about Kim Kardashian’s skincare line.

One wrote, “Never buy celebrity skincare all you’re paying for is their name,” to which Hale replied, “I agree with you 10000%!!!”

Another added: “The Kardashians have enough money to create true quality products, I just don’t understand their thought process.”

“Kim should coin the term ‘cash grab,'” read a third comment.

A fourth commented, “I think everyone who keeps buying celebrity beauty products needs a support group.”

To this, Hale replied, “Hahaha! I think they just need a little education. They are probably too trusting.”

Meanwhile, The Sun’s Carly Stern tested Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner’s skincare lines to see which was better, and her guess was wrong.

Additionally, Kim Kardashian has come under fire for new “embarrassing” reviews of SKKN after fans criticized the new brand as “too expensive.”

Kim K serum's ingredient list has sodium hyaluronate at the bottom, which means it only has trace amounts of hyaluronic acid.
