“I want people to leave my exhibition with a sense of the magic of the moment. For wanting to be closer to infinity, we are only here for a moment,” says Ilze. “I want us to appreciate these moments. Maybe that’s why I find the most attractive in art is the associative, the subjective, also the telling, the completely unsaid. In addition, there is something magical about this process, it is related to dreaming.
I was born into a family of two artists and I have been drawing for as long as I can remember. My parents opened the door to the magic of the art world and taught me to dream. From the first large drawings at the age of two or three, I still have a love for large forms, monumentalism.» Drawings and paintings made in the last three years can be seen in the exhibition.
