A magnitude 4.6 earthquake hit Ilocos Norte province in the Philippines on March 28, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The epicentre was located 56km northwest of Burgos town, and the earthquake was tectonic in origin with a depth of focus of 12km. No damage or aftershocks were expected from the tremor. Intensity IV was felt in Pasuquin, Bacarra, City of Laoag, Carasi, Burgos and City of Batac, all in Ilocos Norte, while instrumental intensities were recorded at Intensity III in City of Batac, Pasuquin, and City of Laoag. An Intensity I was recorded in Sinait, Ilocos Sur.
