Illustrator and art director Waldemar Post passed away on Thursday, reports de Volkskrant. He worked for that newspaper for about fifty years.
Post ended up in hospital with corona complaints and died yesterday at the age of 84.
Next de Volkskrant he also drew for various magazines such as HP / The Time, Playboy, Move aside in Free Netherlands. He was also the permanent designer of the Madame Tussauds museum in London for a long time. From 1975 to 1990 he taught illustration at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam.
Last December an exhibition of his work opened in the Literature Museum in The Hague. About 300 of his famous writers’ portraits were on display, which he had donated to the museum.
