All children probably count the days. If Santa Claus will only drop off all his presents on the night of December 24 to 25, the city of Chartres will bring the magic of Christmas to life long before. From December 3 to January 2, many activities, decorations and illuminations will be installed all over the city, for “the brightest of Christmas”.
The return of the ice rink
On the Place des Épars, the large ice rink will resume its quarters from December 3, after a year 2020 without the pleasure of skiing. Larger (600m2 instead of 450m2), it will be accessible to everyone until January 2. To celebrate its opening, admission will be offered from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. to all visitors (depending on availability). Two cabins will also be installed next to the ice rink, one of which will offer a catering service to visitors. Access to the ice rink will nevertheless be limited by a maximum gauge, not yet known for the moment.

The illuminated lower town
This year, the lower town will also be in the colors of Christmas. The Saint-André collegiate church, the bridges and the wash houses on the banks of the Eure will be illuminated by original Christmas-themed decorations. “This year, we wanted to put the lower town in the spotlight. All you have to do is take a picture of yourself in the middle of this virtual Christmas-themed staging.
Other decorations all over town
