Illness at home, 21-year-old promising cycling athlete dies in Abruzzo. The Prosecutor’s Office opens an investigation





Tragedy in the world of Abruzzo and Italian cycling. Simone Roganti had turned 21 a few days ago on August 25th. The standard-bearer of the Marche team Continental MG. K Vis Colors for Peace, passed away yesterday evening due to illness in his home in Spoltore. Rescue efforts were immediate but the 118 paramedics could only confirm the death of the young cyclist. The tragic news of Simone Roganti’s passing has shocked the entire world of two wheels, leaving everyone stunned and speechless. Roganti was supposed to leave in the next few days to go racing in Belgium. On September 15th he was supposed to participate in the Trofeo Matteotti cycling race held in Pescara. In the next few weeks, he was supposed to sign a contract with a Professional team in Belgium and turn professional.
Last Thursday 22 August he was a guest on Veló, the cycling programme on Tvsei created by former professional Luciano Rabottini.

Cyclist dies at home, prosecutor opens case and orders autopsy

The Pescara Prosecutor’s Office has opened a case to investigate the death of Simone Roganti, the 21-year-old from Spoltore who died last night at home due to illness. Prosecutor Luca Sciarretta has ordered an autopsy of the runner to understand the cause of death.
