Illegal Dye Found in Rolled Corn Tortilla Chips Imported from the USA: Norwegian Food Safety Authority Issues Recall Notice

Several importers are recalling rolled corn tortilla chips containing the dye E 110 Para-orange. This additive is illegal to use in snack products that are based on grains, flour and starch, the Norwegian Food Safety Authority informs.

The products are imported from the USA via suppliers in the Netherlands, Germany and the Czech Republic. There are several other product varieties on the market of Cheetos and Takis that do not contain the illegal dye. We therefore ask consumers to read the list of ingredients. The dye is labeled Yellow 6 or Yellow 6 lake in American, and E 110 or Paraorange in Norwegian.

The products are sold in kiosks, candy and toy stores, smaller grocery stores and online stores across the country.

Consumers who have bought the products can throw them away or return them to the shop where they were bought, writes the Norwegian Food Safety Authority.
