Iliyan Iliev is the new deputy mayor in Muglizh Municipality. He is one of the suspended employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs after the incident with the wrestling champion Plamen Penev in Stara Zagora, writes NOVA.
Iliev will head the department “Public order, security, investment policy and territorial planning” in the local administration, Reni Maleva, who is also the deputy mayor of the sub-Balkan municipality, told BTA.
Iliyan Iliev was born in 1969 in Plovdiv. He graduated from the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Sofia and a master’s degree in “Criminology and Social Prevention” at the Technical University in Varna. From 1994 to 2023, he held various managerial positions in the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Stara Zagora, and most recently he was the head of the “Security Police” department at the Ministry of Internal Affairs – Stara Zagora.
