Footballer name Ilias Alhaft became popular in recent days on social media for being seen carrying the Indonesian flag.

Alhaft carried the Red and White and Moroccan flags when celebrating the success of his club Almere City in winning promotion tickets to the Dutch top division league, also known as the Eredivisie.

Alhaft’s existence with the Indonesian flag was later shown by an account that specifically discussed players of foreign descent.

Alhaft was immediately popular, especially now that PSSI seems serious about responding to players with Indonesian blood who are abroad.

Alhaft is a player with Indonesian blood that he got from his father. The player who was born in Rotterdam, Netherlands, February 23, 1997 usually operates on the right and left wings and can play as an attacking midfielder.

Currently the 26-year-old player holds a Dutch passport. Alhaft is also known to have defended the U-20 Dutch national team with a record of 10 caps.

Starting his career in the Ridderkerk youth team, Alhaft then joined Sparta Rotterdam. His career continued at Sparta, from under-17 to senior team.

In 2019 Alhaft moved to Almere City. After playing 25 times for the Spartan first team, Alhaft then made 101 matches for Almere.

Especially in the 2022/2023 season, Alhaft played 33 times and contributed six assists and two goals for Almere.

The Almere City club has also defended two players who are now Indonesian citizens, namely Stefano Lilipaly and Ezra Walian.
