Borissov’s last day as prime minister, the last day of his political biography. This mediocre man has been in power for more than 15 years, and his main achievement is that we are firmly in last place in the EU in terms of key development indicators.
He also left a heavy legacy – divided and the vast majority of Bulgaria, which hated him.
He also dragged GERB to the bottom, refusing once again to take political responsibility for the party’s condition. Again, he is not honest with his colleagues and party members, refusing to admit that he, as the sole and irremovable leader, is responsible for the loss of the elections and for the incompatibility of the party with the government from now on.
Instead of removing mayors, deputies and party activists as responsible for the state of GERB, today he must stand through everyone and explain at the forum and to the tens of thousands of party members and party activists why none of them will take more post in the executive branch, why many will be investigated and tried for crimes committed with his blessing, why the personal and professional perspective of each of them is catastrophic – will never again be a factor in society or politics and their maximum field of manifestation will be the media.
Until he squeezes everything out of them, until he completely destroys them as individuals and politicians, he will not leave them alone, because the “question of leadership in GERB” did not stand.
“Stand up – Borisov is out” – this was to start the top forum of GERB today. He had to. But it will not work.
