Several people were in police custody this Wednesday, June 22, suspected of having stung participants in the Fête de la musique in Versailles, in the Yvelines (78) but also in Asnières, in the Hauts-de-Seine (92) .
Police custody was still in progress for at least 5 people suspected of having stung their victims during the Music Festival this Tuesday, June 21. Among them, one acted during a concert in Versailles (78), while the 4 others were arrested in Asnières (92).
The number of victims still unknown
The first – a 37-year-old man – was confused thanks to the testimonies of two victims aged 15 and 16 and a video of the attack, without the syringe being found. He was taken into custody for administration of harmful substances and intentional violence with a weapon.
Four other people were also placed in police custody for aggravated violence and administration of harmful substances for events that occurred in Asnières (92), according to the Nanterre prosecution.
If the precise number of victims remains to be determined, the Ministry of the Interior has nevertheless announced that no less than 8 people had been arrested in France for similar incidents which occurred during the Fête de la Musique.
A total of 1,004 complaints for bites – which occurred most of the time in bars, nightclubs and other festive environments – were recorded by the government, between January 1 and June 17, 2022. A national scourge which mainly affects youth.

Moreover, and without this having any connection with this phenomenon, the Paris police headquarters announced on Wednesday that it had arrested 55 people and taken care of 3 others during the Music Festival, thanking on this occasion “the security and rescue forces engaged in securing” the event.
