Marin had been vaccinated with a single dose of Janssen vaccine. In addition, he had previously contracted Covid-19 at the end of 2019.
As Alberto Martins, the singer’s lawyer, explained on Spanish television, Carlos was taken too late to Manchester Royal Infirmary. This was probably the reason why the outcome was fatal.
“He waited quite a long time. Then he went to the hospital on December 7. Maybe he had to go faster. The hospital got even worse. He had to be put in a coma. “But we know that the vaccines do not protect 100% and that there is also a risk of the disease. He became infected and the virus hit his lungs hard.”
He described the singer’s death as a “bad dream” that devastated his friends and loved ones.
Martin said members of the group had taken every precaution to protect themselves from the virus. He believes the singer fell ill with Covid-19 in Gran Canaria when the band went there in late November to perform.
Carlos Marin passed away on December 19.
