IKEA will start buying its furniture and resell it – ČT24 – Czech Television

Customers will receive back half of the original price for furniture without damage, 40 percent for the one with smaller scratches and 30 percent for worn pieces. A complication can be that the furniture has to be delivered folded to the store. The company will promote the initiative from November 24 to December 3.

IKEA said that vouchers will not be limited in time, so people will be able to buy furniture when they really need it.

This year, IKEA will open the first section with used furniture in its department store in western Stockholm. By 2021, the company wants to have similar sections where it will sell old furniture and buy repaired or modified, in all its stores.

Pieces that are not sold are recycled by IKEA or donated to charity.
