After a model for its Symfonisk range for the interior, IKEA is launching a Bluetooth speaker lamp for the exterior. Vappeby wants to bring a design and musical touch to your balcony, with Spotify as a guest star.
After the speaker-shelves, speaker-lamps and speaker-boards from the Symfonisk range designed with Sonos, IKEA continues to enrich its connected objects, combining design and modernity.
With spring here and the evenings getting longer, the kit furniture specialist is thinking of your outdoors with a new audio product to liven it up. Vappeby looks like old-fashioned lanterns, with a modern twist. It is actually a lamp with a speaker to connect via Bluetooth to your smartphone, tablet or any other device that can play music.
One Tap Spotify
With its camping lamp look with LED light, it will be perfect to carry anywhere and has a USB-C rechargeable battery. It has IP65 certification to withstand dust and splashes or rain. But don’t try to dive into the pool, she won’t survive it.
There are three buttons on the front, including a large rotary to turn it on and manage the volume, a Bluetooth button and a power button. The same set of commands that the Symfonisk speaker lamp already had. But it counts on a small asset of weight: Spotify Tap playback.
This function of the music streaming service, which allows you to activate your music with a tap on the button. You press again to have another title suggestion which will be broadcast in 360°.
The Vappeby speaker lamp is not yet available in France, but it can be purchased in a petrol blue version for 59 euros on the Belgian IKEA site and in stores in Belgium.
Attention, if the charging cable is provided, the box does not include an AC adapter.
