There are many restrictions in the Corona crisis – for example, a visit to a restaurant is currently not possible. The Swedish furniture store Ikea also knows this and made many customers happy on Twitter.
Because there the furniture store published the recipe for the popular Köttbullar including the cream sauce. «You miss your Ikea meatballs? We have created a recipe for you with which you can prepare this delicious dish comfortably at home », says the tweet. The recipe is designed in such a way that it is reminiscent of an Ikea guide to furniture assembly.
Recipe: Köttbullar with sauce
For the recipe of the meatballs in six steps you need the following ingredients:
- 500 g ground beef
- 250 g minced pork
- 1 finely diced onion
- 1 chopped clove of garlic
- 100 g breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 5 tablespoons milk
- salt and pepper
Ingredients for the sauce:
- oil
- 40 g butter
- 40 g light flour
- 150 ml vegetable stock
- 150 ml beef broth
- 150 ml double cream
- 1 tsp dijon mustard
- 2 tsp soy sauce
Preparation:
- Mix the two types of ground beef and pork with your hands so that there are no lumps. Then add the onion, garlic, breadcrumbs and egg and mix well. Finally, add the milk and season the whole thing with salt and pepper.
- Form small, round balls out of the mass. Place them on a plate and place them covered in the fridge for two hours – this way they will keep their shape later when cooking.
- Heat some oil on a medium heat in a pan. Put the balls in and fry them until they are brown on all sides.
- When the balls are browned, remove them from the pan and cook them covered in an oven-proof form in the oven for about 30 minutes at 180 degrees top / bottom heat or at 160 degrees convection.
- For the sauce, melt the butter in a small saucepan, add the flour with a whisk and stir for about two minutes. Then add the vegetable and beef stock with stirring. Now stir in the double cream, the mustard and the soy sauce and let the sauce simmer until it is creamy.
- Serve the Kötbullar with either mashed potatoes or small boiled potatoes.
