The furniture giant Ikea has increased the price of certain furniture by up to 50 percent and blames higher costs as a result of the pandemic.

Ikea estimates that the average price increase for the goods they sell is around 9 percent, writes The Guardian.
– For the first time since the cost increases began to affect the world economy, Ikea will raise prices now in the coming weeks. The increases are global, but will vary from country to country, says a press contact for Ikea in Sweden.
The company refers to the price increases for raw materials, transport and logistics, in addition to the global logistics problems the pandemic has brought with it, as the reason for the higher prices.
