IKEA plans to lower its prices in the near future. In recent years, the furniture giant’s items have become more expensive, but now the company can reduce many of the prices in steps.
It is not entirely clear when and how fast prices will fall. Ingka, which operates most IKEA stores in our country, says that the emphasis is on storage products such as cupboards.
IKEA has increased its prices over the past two years. The chain did this because of the more expensive energy and higher transport costs. But according to Ingka, there is now room to lower prices again.
The housing giant’s revenues rose to 1.64 billion euros in the last financial year (which ended at the end of August). This amounts to an increase of almost 20 percent. More than a quarter of these came via the webshop.
